Budget Update: May 4, 2025
As was mentioned during the announcement last weekend, our PROFIT from the 2025 Lenten Seafood Dinners was just shy of $21,000. That’s PROFIT! This is ALL thanks to the dedication and hard work of SO many in our parish. Thank you! I’ve said many times, the Spring Grove community sees that something is going on here and they want to be a part of it! Congratulations to all of you! The Spirit is moving! Fiscal Year Budget:
The 3rd quarter ended in March, so the below chart shows where we are in our 2024-2025 budget as of March 31, 2025. As you see, we have a small deficit of $6,626 in operating income/expenses for the fiscal year. The projected deficit at this point of the year was much higher, so we are moving the right direction! We need to realize, however, that it was the decision of the Parish Finance Council not to include fundraising income in this report.
The major reason for this is that the Diocese has had concerns that we were previously not able to balance our operating expenses & income without relying on extensive fundraising and withdrawals from our savings accounts. While still running a slight deficit, we want to show the Diocese, and prove to ourselves, that we CAN “pay our bills” from our operating income without relying heavily on fundraisers. This new way of looking at the budget will help Harrisburg understand that we ARE self-sufficient – hopefully paving the way for our planned growth and expansion in the future. Again, this is all thanks to YOU and your hard work and generosity to your parish. THANK YOU!
