Eucharistic Day: Friday June 27:

As we prepare to celebrate our Parish Feast Day – the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus – Fr. Bateman and Fr. Kelley have worked together to plan a “Eucharistic Day” of prayer and celebration to express our gratitude to the Sacred Heart for the love that He has poured out into our parish family.

The day will begin with Mass at noon, followed by all-day Adoration until 6pm. At 6pm we will have a Eucharistic Closing Service. Bishop Emeritus Gainer will be our guest preacher and offer some reflections on the Sacred Heart and the Holy Eucharist.

Then, following the service, a parish pot-luck supper. Bring something to share! Our Parish Knights of Columbus will provide hamburgers and hotdogs on the grill – bring your favorite dish to share! What a wonderful way for us to celebrate and say “thank you” to God for all His goodness to us and love for us – and our love for one another.

St. Patrick/Sacred Heart Priest Changes:

As was announced at all the Masses last weekend, Bishop Senior has asked both Father Bateman and Father Fischer to take up new assignments in parishes in other parts of the Diocese. Effective June 16, Father Bateman will be the pastor of St. Joseph Parish, Mechanicsburg; Father Fischer will be the pastor of St. Catherine of Sienna Parish in Quarryville.

The new priests for our Partner Parishes of St. Patrick and Sacred Heart will be Father Stephen Kelley (currently at St. Francis Xavier in Gettysburg) and Father Javed Kashif (currently at St. Joseph in Hanover). Change is always difficult for everyone, especially when you have “fallen in love” with a parish community.
